Vandal Resistant
Southco has developed the following rating system to help designers select the appropriate access solution for their application. The system is based on the time to force entry into an application with a specific set of tools. While this guide provide a relative rating for the access hardware, the ultimate vandal resistance of an enclosure depends on a number of factors including: the enclosure design, hinge selection, mounting hardware, etc. Any latch should be tested in your specific application to determine the ultimate vandal resistance.

Limited resistance to forced entry by available tools (withstands 2-minute vandal test with pocket knife and screwdriver)

Provides resistance to deliberate forced entry with common tools (withstands 5-minute vandal test with hammer, screwdriver and pliers)
